5 Tips for Spring Cleaning!
A good old spring cleaning session will leave your home feeling fresh, clean and organised, getting you ready to make the most of the season ahead. In the spirit of spring cleaning, here are 5 tips to deep clean your home and leave it sparkling from top to toe.
1. Give you dishwasher a yearly check up & clean
Do you often have to run plates or cutlery through your dishwasher more than once? This is because the dishwasher itself needs a deep clean! Firstly, remove any bits of food that may be clogging parts of the dishwasher, then run it through a cycle with some speciality dishwashing cleaner to leave it sparkling fresh! Give your dishwasher a break and opt to hand-wash your dishes that evening.
Product Tip: Orange Power Dishwash Concentrate is perfect for manual dishwashing. The orange based naturally-derived formula does not contain unsustainable petrochemicals or unhealthy ingredients. It’s also palm oil free, grey water and septic safe.
2. We know it’s a pane, but you’ve got to clean the windows!
Instead of just cleaning the inside of your windows – clean the outside too! Make sure to use specialty glass cleaner and proper cloth to wipe everything down, instead of a sponge, to ensure all surfaces are left with a sparkle. Don’t forget, spring cleaning means everything gets a proper wipe down, and that includes the shower screen. It’s sort of like a “window”! Remove soap scum, water and rust stains, as well as calcium build up and stains, and your bathroom will look squeaky clean!
Product Tip: Orange Power Shower, Bath & Tile Cleaner effectively dissolves stains in minutes without creating harsh fumes. Simply spray and rinse off, and wipe down your shower screens, baths, basins, tips and faucets.
3. Give your floors the ‘wax on, wax off’
Be proactive in protecting the floors in your kitchen and throughout the house from another year of wear and tear. Now is the time to wax the floors or apply a sealer. Directions on how to use the wax or sealer can be found on the back of the bottles. To give you floor boards a deep clean, use a floor cleaning spray that cleans and shines the floor with minimal fuss.
Product: Orange Power’s Spray & Mop Floor Cleaner can be applied directly to floors using a ‘dry mop technique’. You can use it to spot clean problem areas without water, and it dries streak-free in minutes. Suitable for all floor types including tiles, sealed timber, vinyl, linoleum, ceramic, cork, sealed slate and concrete.
4. The Great Wall… Wipe Down
Most of us don’t really consider cleaning our walls unless we are moving to a new house – but if you’ve been living somewhere for several years it’s important to give your walls a touch up annually! This will avoid nasty stains, leave the walls looking brighter and avoid issues if you do move out. Use a sponge and a multipurpose cleaner to wipe them down.
Product Tip: Orange Power Multi-Purpose Cleaner can service all your cleaning needs in an environmentally friendly way. It lifts and dissolves grease, grime and other stains, leaving behind a pleasant, natural citrus fragrance.
5. Give the carpet a deep clean
Vacuuming carpeted areas can be a large and time-consuming task, but is essential to any spring cleaning regime! As you are doing a deep clean, you want to make sure you don’t miss a single nook or cranny. Instead of moving items out of the way as you make your way through the room, make it a point to clear out the zones before you start vacuuming to save time. Once you have completed a full-house vacuum, whip out a carpet cleaner to give the fibres a good old fashioned scrubbing.
Product Tip: Orange Power Carpet & Upholstery Spot Cleaner deodorises carpets and upholstery, removing common stains including food, tea and coffee, grease, oil spots and pet stains. It is perfectly safe to use on both woollen and synthetic fibres. It can also be used in shampooing machines as an economical, all-over carpet cleaner, diluted at about 8:1 water to Orange Power.
